Join us this Thursday, September 19, 2024, for a LUNCH (12:00-1:30pm) meeting at The Transept (1205 Elm St, 45202), for a program with Jerry Schulte, Co-Founder, Ohio River Way, Inc.
Jerry Schulte has spent 35 years conducting environmental research on the Ohio River. He served as ORSANCO’s Emergency Response and Drinking Water Security programs director. Now retired, he’s still committed to the river and — when he’s not on the water — he is the Safety Director for Paddlefest, the Ohio River Swim and the annual Ohio River Way – Ohio River Challenge 250-mile paddling event. He is a member of the Board of Directors for Adventure Crew, a non-profit organization that connects city teens with nature and each other through engaging outdoor adventures, and is currently working for the National Park Service, where he is developing the application for the Ohio River Way Water Trail to achieve National Water Trail status, of which there are only 36 in the country.
