The Rotary Club of Cincinnati relies on each and every member to participate in club activities and committees. Your help is needed again this year. On Thursday, August 29, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., we will hold a Committee Fair at The Transept, where the chairs will showcase their committees and ask for sign-ups.

Current committees and fellowship opportunities available for sign-up:
4-Way Test Speech Contest
Runs a speech contest for Cincinnati area high school students. Speeches must include the 4-Way Test in the subject. Group is active starting mid-October. The winner will compete in the District contest in March.
Foundation Fundraiser
The Foundation Fundraiser is a signature fundraiser for our foundation, The Rotary Foundation of Cincinnati. This committee is in charge of the planning of the event, including selling sponsorships, tickets, and organizing the live and silent auctions. Proceeds from this fundraiser benefit the Rotary Foundation of Cincinnati projects and allocations.
Camp Allyn Balloon Rides & Activities
Hosts hot air tethered balloon rides to summer campers at Camp Allyn. Also organizes other social opportunities for campers when balloon rides may not be appropriate. Meets in spring, active during summer months.
Condon School Holiday Party
Oversees the annual holiday party held for children with disabilities at Roselawn Condon School. Meets several times during the fall with the party held in December.
Fire, Police, Sherriff, and Cincinnati Public Schools Teacher Recognition
Honors members of these City of Cincinnati and Hamilton County agencies at meetings during the year. Meets as needed to plan the programs.
Hands-On Service Projects
Plans and coordinates hands-on service projects for the club. Meets as needed.
Social Media
Reviews the Club’s social media sites to make sure they have engaging information to interest members and attract prospective members to our Rotary Club. Assesses the effectiveness of our social media (e.g., # of “hits”, % engagement, etc.). Adds content to our public Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram pages, as needed, to help engagement (and suggests content for private Facebook page and Club’s website to the Club’s Exec Director). Recommends additional social media platforms, if helpful.
Rotary Club of Cincinnati Do Days
Rotary Club of Cincinnati Do Days supports community-wide service days in Greater Cincinnati as an annual event with hundreds of volunteers impacting area non-profits. The Rotary Foundation of Cincinnati, the Rotary Club of Cincinnati, Cincinnati Cares, Tristate companies, and area non-profits will be partnering with volunteers who want to engage in meaningful service activities.
RYLA — Rotary Youth Leadership Awards
Works with District 6670 to send qualified students to the RYLA program in the spring. The program, a Leadership and Personal Development seminar, is for high school students who are nominated and sponsored by their local Rotary Club. Group is active from late-December to early April.
UC Rotaract Club
This committee works with members of the University of Cincinnati-based Cincinnati Rotaract Club, the student-led Rotaract Club we sponsor. Looks for ways to support the growth and development of the UC Rotaract Club through mentoring of its leaders, and joint service projects and activities as appropriate. Meets according to their schedules.
World Affairs
Plans and implements international service opportunities for the club. Meets monthly.
Rotary International Foundation
Works with the Club’s Director of International Service and the Executive Director to decide on the approach and timing of communicating to Club members about the value of The Rotary International Foundation (TRF). This includes explaining how TRF funds are used, funds that come back to the Districts, and what the Paul Harris Fellowship is.
District & Rotary International Events
Maintains contact with the District and RI and communicates information and activities to the club. Meets as needed.
Greeters
Greets members, visiting Rotarians, Prospective members and guests at the weekly meetings. Greeters are strongly encouraged to be in place no later than 11:45 am. The committee meets quarterly. Use Sign-Up Genius Program to sign up for specific dates.
Invocation
Arranges for members to provide an invocation at our weekly meetings. Meets as needed.
Chorus / Music
Provides musical entertainment at Thursday meetings and coordinates the leaders and accompanists for the National Anthem at weekly meetings. Meets to rehearse when needed.
Sergeant at Arms
Registers and introduces visiting Rotarians and prospective members at our weekly meetings. Meets as needed to schedule the list of those serving each week.
Split the Pot
Sells Split the Pot tickets at our weekly meetings. Meets as needed to schedule the list of those serving each week.
Rotarians at Work
Organizes one meeting a year to take place at the businesses of our club members. The event takes place at the end of May. Meets as needed in March – May.
Rotary After Hours (Fellowship Opportunity)
Organizes social opportunities for members of the club, their families and friends.
Women in Rotary
Group that meets to foster fellowship with the women members of the club. Organizes club-wide as well as women-only activities in the club. Meets as needed.
Young Professionals
Group that meets to foster fellowship with the young professionals who are members of the club. Organizes club-wide as well as YP-only service and social activities in the club. Meets as needed.
Membership Development
Encourages current Rotary members to share their “Rotary story” and invite others to join Rotary. Provides opportunities for this by creating Membership Development marketing materials that showcase Rotary and our Club, and by running activities (special programs, events, service projects, etc.) which are opportunities for prospective members to learn more about Rotary, meet Rotarians, and consider membership in our Club.
New Member Advisor Process
Matches each new member to a current Club member who has volunteered to serve as a New Member Advisor (NMA). Each new member is given a checklist of activities in which to engage to learn more about the Club and get involved. The NMA is a support to the new member and answers any questions as the new member works through the Roadmap to Success. When the activities are complete, there is a ceremony to recognize that the new member has completed this process.
Professional Development Series
A series of classes developed to offer leadership and educational courses as an additional benefit to the club’s membership. Meets as needed.
Picnic
Organizes the Rotary Picnic each year which is open to families and guests. The committee meets in the spring as needed to plan for and organize the event.
Club Fundraiser Event
Coordinates the Club Fundraiser Event.
Bowling League (Fellowship Opportunity)
Members of the club bowl each week from September through April, providing fun and fellowship. Members may join a team or sub when available. Each April, bowlers from the Cincinnati Club challenge bowlers from the Dayton Club for a traveling trophy. Active September through April, bowling takes place at the Strikes and Spares Bowling Alley.
Euchre (Fellowship Opportunity)
The group meets to play Euchre at a different member’s home once a month. All skill levels, spouses and guests welcome!
Red Light Table (Fellowship Opportunity)
Every Club member is invited to join this “Club within our Club.” For the best explanation of its history, see Golden Days, 1947, on Page 94. The Red Light Table helps with various service projects and sponsors a party for the Club each year.
Legacy Circle
Recognizes those who make a financial commitment of $5,000 or more to the Rotary Foundation of Cincinnati. Meets as needed.
District & Rotary International Events Committee
Maintains contact with the District and Rotary International and communicates information and activities to the Club. Meets as needed.
