BLINK debuted in Cincinnati in 2017, with about 1 million people visiting downtown and Over-the-Rhine to take in the nation’s largest light, art and projection mapping experience.

It returned in 2019 and expanded into Northern Kentucky as some 1.25 million attended. After the global pandemic caused a hiatus, the biennial Blink will return in October. In February, the lead organizer, the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber, announced it had hired the event’s first executive director, Justin Brookhart. He moved here from Austin, Texas, where he had worked in several private business operational roles.

Education: Bachelor’s in film arts, University of New Orleans; master’s in public affairs, University of Texas

Experience: Vice president of operations, Heart of Texas Better Business Bureau; managing director and vice president of operations, Mondo, an Austin-based company that creates and markets collectibles, posters and recordings based on movies 

Justin resides in Pendleton with his wife, Erin.
