Ed Neyra, President of Land Rover Cincinnati and Author of Cuba Lost and Found

Join us this Thursday, August 15, 2024, for a LUNCH (12:00-1:30pm) meeting at The Transept (1205 Elm St, 45202), for a program with Ed Neyra, President of Land Rover Cincinnati and Author of Cuba Lost and Found.

Ed Neyra is a Cuban immigrant from Cárdenas, Cuba, a small city eighty miles east of Havana. Cárdenas is best known as the hometown of Elian Gonzalez, the little boy who ignited an international furor after being found lost alone at sea. Ed also fled Cuba alone as a boy and moved to Cincinnati, Ohio, in January 1962. But Ed’s path took a dramatically different turn, and he has proudly embraced the American Dream. Ed also has a great passion for Cuba and its people, with an extensive family history that dates back to the colonial founders of Cuba in the 1500s.

Ed Neyra attended the University of Cincinnati where he studied Industrial Management and Business Marketing. In 1971, while still in college, he bought his first company, Cincinnati Paving & Sealing, which he later renamed Neyra Paving. He then founded Neyra Industries in 1975 to manufacture asphalt pavement maintenance products. Ed’s other business interests also include a commercial real estate investment and development firm, Neyra Properties. In addition to his trio of namesake companies, Ed owns Star Storage and the rock climbing center RockQuest, both in Sharonville. His latest acquisition is the Jaguar and Land Rover dealerships, which he consolidated in a new state of the
art facility in Blue Ash.

Ed Neyra and his wife, Lynn, have been happily married since 1972. Their two sons, Nathan and Justin, now lead the family businesses, which have continued to flourish under their guidance, approaching 250 million in annual revenue. The family’s success is a testament to the strong foundation of love and dedication that Ed and Lynn have built together.

Ed is also very civic minded. He has served on many boards over the course of his time in Cincinnati, including the Thomas C. Page Center for
Entrepreneurship at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Ed is also an active fund-raiser for charities that provide resources for children, such as Ronald McDonald House and Children’s Hospital.

In addition to his diverse business and charitable interests, Ed has written a book, Cuba Lost and Found, which explores his heritage and his journey of self discovery. So all-encompassing was this soul-searching process that Neyra ultimately took a three-year sabbatical from his companies to finish the manuscript.
