Join us this Thursday, January 9, 2025, for a LUNCH (12:00-1:30pm) meeting at The View (1071 Celestial St, 45202), for a Corporate Member Roundtable presentation, “A Thriving Cincinnati: What’s Driving Growth in Our Region”.
From expansion of the convention center to development north of the TQL stadium, our region is ripe with opportunities for growth. Hear from this esteemed panel of experts as they share insights on the key projects impacting the area economy in 2025.
Jeff Berding, President/Co-CEO, FC Cincinnati
Jeff Berding is President and Co-CEO of FC Cincinnati, the professional soccer team he co-founded with his partner Carl Lindner in the summer of 2015. With its arrival in Major League Soccer (MLS) for the 2019 season – less than four years after its founding – FC Cincinnati has become the benchmark for organic growth and community-driven sports interest.
Prior to his August 2015 founding of FC Cincinnati, Jeff served for more than 19 years as an executive with the Cincinnati Bengals, where he led sales and public affairs efforts for the city’s NFL franchise. But he pivoted to soccer to give his children the opportunity to root for a hometown team in the sport they most loved.
Julie Calvert, President & CEO, Visit Cincy
As President and CEO of Visit Cincy (formerly known as the Cincinnati USA Convention & Visitors Bureau), Julie Calvert leads the region’s destination marketing and management organization. Her strategic vision and collaborative approach help maximize the size and impact of Cincinnati’s visitor economy and expand the region’s travel, tourism, and convention industries.
Prior to her appointment as CEO, Calvert served as Executive Director of Source Cincinnati (Cincinnati Experience), where she led the charge to connect the region with national media and elevate the “Cincinnati Story” into the global spotlight. In that role, she created a coalition of like-minded, visionary funders. She built and engaged a board of directors and tapped our best regional resources and outside experts to establish Source as the region’s only organization focused solely on global reputation management.
Mayor Aftab Pureval, City of Cincinnati
Aftab Pureval is the 70th Mayor of Cincinnati. He was raised in Southwest, Ohio, the son of first-generation Americans. He is making history as Cincinnati’s first Asian American Mayor. As Mayor, he is committed to serving Cincinnati’s 52 neighborhoods. He has made equitable economic growth a top priority of his administration, as well as a comprehensive reform and improvement of public safety, affordable housing, and environmental action.
He served as Hamilton County Clerk of Courts from 2016 to 2021 and was the first Democrat to hold this office in over 100 years. During his tenure, he brought modern and professional reforms to the Clerk’s office. He paid a living wage to all employees and became the first county officeholder in Ohio to offer comprehensive paid family leave. By ending nepotism, by cutting waste, and by making the office more professional, he saved taxpayers millions of dollars.
