Charlie Clifford joined WLWT in 2023 and anchors Sports on News 5 at 6, 7, 10 and 11 p.m.

Charlie and his wife Colleen, a Cincinnati native, met while attending Miami University and graduated together at Oxford. Charlie was born and raised in Mt. Prospect, IL, and his broadcast career started with positions at WGN Radio in Chicago and WKBT-TV in La Crosse, Wis.

Before WLWT, Charlie worked from 2017-2022 as Weekend Sports Anchor/ Reporter at WISH-TV in Indianapolis, earning a regional Emmy Award for Sportscast, and recognition for top Sports Report by the Indiana Associated Press Broadcasters Association. In addition to his TV duties, Charlie was a regular radio host for 107.5 FM The Fan and part-time play-by-play broadcaster for the Indianapolis Indians, Ball State University, Xavier University, and the IHSAA.

At Miami, Charlie served as a sports columnist for The Miami Student and as the voice of RedHawks basketball, baseball, and football for RedHawk Radio.
