Kim Kern is President & CEO of The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati, the nation’s oldest professional children’s theatre, serving families and schools throughout the region. A Cincinnati native and graduate of Vanderbilt University, Kim brings more than 25 years of nonprofit leadership experience spanning fundraising, strategic planning, marketing, public relations, corporate sponsorships, and organizational development.
Kim joined The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati in 2013 as Managing Director and assumed the combined role of CEO and Managing Director in 2015. Under her leadership, the organization has experienced significant growth and expansion, strengthening its educational programming, artistic impact, and community reach.
Prior to The Children’s Theatre, Kim served as President of the Ohio Valley Chapter of the National MS Society, Director of Major Gifts for the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center, Executive Director of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, and Director of Market Development for Local 12 WKRC-TV and Clear Channel Broadcasting. She also operated her own consulting company, advising nonprofit and corporate organizations in fundraising, board development, special events, sponsorships, and public relations.
Known for her collaborative leadership style and passion for arts education, Kim remains committed to creating opportunities for children and families to experience the transformative power of live theatre. She and her family call Cincinnati home.
