Annual Jefferson Award – Call for Nominations

JeffersonAwardsLogo

We are fortunate again to have the Jefferson Award as one of our premier community service  programs.  We are going to recognize outstanding volunteerism in the Greater Cincinnati area.  The award was created in 1972 by Robert Taft and Jacqueline Kennedy in 1972.  Individuals in over 90 cities are recognized annually.

But we need your help!  We need you to assist in nominating candidates for the Jefferson Award For Public Service.  Our Rotary club will recognize ordinary people who do extraordinary things, without expectation of recognition or reward.  Past non-winning applicants may be re-nominated.

We have two great partners, the Cincinnati Enquirer and Channel 12.  The Enquirer has created an online application process to nominate a candidate.  Bob Herzog of Channel 12 will present the  Jefferson Award at our luncheon on March 3, 2016.

The link to nominate candidates is http://cincinnati.com/jeffersonawards.  Watch for additional information in the Cincinnati Enquirer.

The deadline for nominations or re-nominations is Friday February 12, 2016.  If you have questions please contact me or any of the other Rotarian committee members:  Bud Dornette, Ron Ott, Doug Adams, Anthony Ricciardi, Laure Quinlivan, Jim Eichmann, Roni Luckenbill, Mark McKiernan or Lisa Schafer.

Please submit nominations on or before February 12, 2016.
