Over 200 local professionals gathered this past weekend for the launch of Wage Cincy Peace, a project of the Rotary Club of Cincinnati. Attendees enjoyed a Friday night cruise on the river followed by a service project Saturday morning where volunteers packed clothing for poor families in Cincinnati, Togo, Kosovo, and Honduras and revived the courtyard at Taft High School in the West End. Keynote speaker Paul K. Chappell, author of a seven-book series, “The Road to Peace”, spoke both days on the topic of peace. This weekend’s summit was just the beginning of a year-long initiative aimed to spark a dialogue about the deterrents to peace in our community. Additional events are expected to be announced later this year.
