Laura N. Brunner is President and Chief Executive Officer of The Port of Greater Cincinnati Development Authority, a public economic development agency focused on transforming underutilized and distressed real estate into opportunities for housing, job creation and economic growth throughout Hamilton County.

For more than a decade, Brunner has led The Port’s efforts to address some of Greater Cincinnati’s most complex real estate challenges. Her work has focused on increasing homeownership, revitalizing neighborhoods, redeveloping industrial properties and creating opportunities for advanced manufacturing and job growth. In 2022, she gained national attention when The Port acquired 194 single-family homes from an out-of-town investor, an effort designed to preserve and expand opportunities for local homeownership.

Brunner brings an extensive background in business and real estate to her role. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Indiana University and spent 25 years in public accounting and management consulting, followed by more than a decade in commercial real estate. Before joining The Port, she worked with Cincinnati-based developer Al. Neyer, where her projects included the redevelopment of the historic Vernon Manor.

Her leadership and community involvement have earned numerous honors, including the Cincinnati Enquirer Woman of the Year, the NAACP President’s Award and the University of Cincinnati Real Estate Center’s Distinguished Real Estate Service Award. She has also served a number of local arts and community organizations, including the Cincinnati Ballet, Dan Beard Council of the Boy Scouts of America and the Mercantile Library.
