Dick Williams, CEO, Skyline

Presented By

Join us this Thursday, September 5, 2024, for a LUNCH (12:00-1:30pm) meeting at The Transept (1205 Elm St, 45202), for a program with Dick Williams, CEO, Skyline Chili.

Running a Major League Baseball team and the region’s largest, most-ubiquitous chili chain might not seem comparable, but Skyline Chili CEO Dick Williams, who was a top Cincinnati Reds executive until 2020, sees more than a few similarities. In a way, both are viewed as a community trust.

The Williams family has been deeply involved in Cincinnati’s business community going back to William Williams, who founded Western & Southern Financial Group in 1888. His nephew, who had the same name, also founded North American Properties.

North American CEO Tom Williams, who is Dick Williams’ uncle, led the family’s acquisition of Skyline, which is celebrating its 75th year in business, from an ownership team led by then-Skyline CEO Kevin McDonnell beginning in 2021.

In 2023, Skyline was the 54th-largest private company in the region, with $260 million in revenue and 5,460 employees, according to Business Courier research. The company returned to local ownership in 2007 after being publicly traded for nearly two decades.
